A project has been developed by Pascal Bettex, a renowed artist from
the Vaud canton who created the “Poya Cinétique”, a work in honour of the kinetic artist Jean Tinguely.
«La Poya», an expression in local dialect literally meaning the ascent to the alpine pastures, is interpreted here in a playful and kinetic manner by accumulating a number of objects discovered in the cellars of the restoroute and around the region: old fondue pots, burners, sieves, whips and forks have been revived and given a new life.
Set in a lush, unspoiled landscape, groups of cows climb up to the pastures on bicycle chains. Water and waves symbolize the marvellous Lake of Gruyère. The copper-coloured chassis is an ancient cheese press dating from the early 20th century. This work of art 22.4 by 2.6 m) stands in the entrance hall and can be set in movement simply by pushing a button. Everyone loves this exceptional artistic creation, where you can discover something new each time you see it.
